Reviews
Excellent restaurant! Locally/family owned with great quality. I love their wings here and 12 wings for $9 is such a deal. I highly recommend trying them out, especially during the week for dinner. They’re not super busy at that time. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends :)
Nice place. Tuesday night visit. Bagged salad was old, had to pick out some pieces. Porkchops were pretty good. Wings were very over cooked. Chesse Hamburger was very good. Onion rings were too. Price was very good for the burger and rings.
The food was okay, but not great. The fries were rather bland and the burger over cooked.
They were not that busy, but were fairly slow. Friendly service.
On a not crowed day. Service wasn't the best. Food is I guess ok at 11 for a burger and fries and 12 for quasadia. Atmosphere kinda like walking back in time. Not a place I'd recommend after that burger.
Nice little home style restaurant. I had the steak boom with onion rings. The steak boom was very good but my onion rings were a little to salty for me
I genuinely do not understand the hype around this place. My husband and I moved to Greenwood about a year ago and we have tried to eat at this place on two separate occasions. Both times we walked into the restaurant it smelled heavily of mildew and both times my husband and I agreed to go elsewhere. Tonight we ordered it in, really trying to wrap our heads around why locals say this place is so good.
I'm sorry, it's not. Spent like 30 dollars in food, and our fries were soggy and looked like they were not only cooked in old oil, but were half-cooked on top of it. How they managed to nail down a floppy, half-cooked fry I will never know. The floppy fry thing I can honestly dismiss with getting it ordered for takeout, but there isn't an excuse for anything else.
Their wings were gross. Like, on par with Pizza Hut. Soggy, small, completely wrecked with sauce. I could honestly justify wings like this while blitzed drunk at 3am, but considering how everywhere in town closes by midnight, I can't find justification for this either.
My Philly was disgusting. Hands down the worst Philly I have ever had, and I picked this as a safe option because my husband was the one who wanted to give this place another chance. I got three bites into it before the plastic-like cheese ruined by appetite and the off-taste made it just not conceivably edible. Even my husband took a bite of this thing and lost his appetite.
Never again guys. I'll come back to knock off a star if I get food poisoning.
Edited to Respond to Owner:
The only difference between your philly and your steak bomb was the cheese, and every philly I have ever ordered has had provolone. I'm glad the locals like and trust you, but to us, the food and atmosphere were not up to par, and the response trying to split hairs only goes to underline every point I made.
I visited Boon’s for the first time this evening.
I chose to have the Combo Sampler appetizer as my meal. I chose the fried mushrooms, potato skins & chicken tenders & every bit of it was delicious! Key lime pie was my choice for dessert & I was not disappointed. Our drinks & food were served quickly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The service was outstanding! Job well done!
Ordered the Alfredo Pasta with Shrimps. And received pasta floating on oil.
Alfredo Sauce requires only 4 ingredients, butter, cream, garlic and Parmesan cheese. A middle school kid can do it.
